In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Local Government Unit of Kapalong, PNPs' Revitalized Police sa Baranagay and Armed Forces of the Philippines (60th Infantry Mediator Battalion) successfully conducted the Livelihood Seeding Program- Serbisyo Negosyo sa Barangay (LSP-NBS) and Closing and Awarding Program of Product Development on Beads Accessories Making at Sitio Kapatagan, Barangay Gupitan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.
Mayor Maria Theresa Timbol, Vice Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol, Director Romeo Castañaga, and representatives from PNP- Revitalized Police sa Baranagay and 60th Infantry Battalion were present during the said program.
LSP-NSB was designed to have a more inclusive development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) as it aims to empower entrepreneurs in barangays to scale up their operations. The program also allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships between relevant local government units and DTI officials.
The 3-day training aims to capacitate the IP beneficiaries from Sitio Tapayanon, Mangkay, and Kapatagan on product development and at the same time to introduce new designs to modernize their crafts considering the enormous demand across the local and international market.
