Transition and Turnover of Official Documents to Newly Elected Kapalong Officials: DILG Takes Lead

Kapalong, Davao del Norte -- June 23, 2025 -- The local government of Kapalong formally commenced the transition process by signing the Certification of Turnover of Documents for the incoming administration during the weekly convocation held at the Municipal Gymnasium. The ceremony was attended by incumbent Municipal Mayor and Vice Mayor Elect Hon. Maria Theresa Timbol, incumbent Municipal Vice Mayor and the Mayor-Elect Edgardo L. Timbol, outgoing and incoming Sangguniang Bayan Members, Ex-Officio Officials, and LGU Kapalong employees. The event was led by Mr. Marc Voltaire F. Daquigan, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer VI, ensuring transparency and proper documentation of the turnover process.Following the turnover, the Municipal Accountanting Office led by Ms. Christine Mae S. Royo, CPA, was recognized as Top Performer in the Municipal Category during the recent audit conducted by the Commission on Audit (COA). This accolade underscores the LGU's exemplary financial management and dedication to transparency in the preparation and submission of its Year-End Financial Statements for Calendar Year 2024. The recognition was formally awarded during the ceremony held on June 18, 2025, at Aumann Villas, Magugpo West, Tagum City, where Mayor Maria Theresa R. Timbol personally received the Certificate of Recognition and Plaque on behalf of the LGU.In her speech, Mayor Maria Theresa R. Timbol expressed pride in the Municipal Accounting Office's achievement, emphasizing that it marks another significant milestone for LGU Kapalong and its commitment to excellence in governance.Additionally, Mayor Timbol announced an upcoming benchmarking activity in Makilala focused on Midwifery education program. This initiative is part of the Kapalong College of Science and Technology's plans for the upcoming academic year, aiming to enhance the municipality's healthcare training programs.Meanwhile, Mayor-Elect Edgardo L. Timbol commended the current administration's leadership and reaffirmed his dedication to maintaining efficient and transparent governance. He expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming leadership transition scheduled for June 30, 2025, and pledged to uphold the progress and development of Kapalong, ensuring integrity and service excellence under his administration.
