President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Honors LGU Kapalong at the 2024 Galing Pook Awards Ceremony in Malacañang Palace

<p>Malacañang Palace, Metro Manila —The 2024 Galing Pook Awards ceremony was a resounding celebration of excellence in local governance, held on October 25, 2024, at the Rizal Ceremonial Hall, Malacañang Palace. His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. presided over the event, honoring the ten winners of the prestigious award, including eight exceptional finalists recognized for their outstanding contributions to effective governance across the Philippines.</p><p>Mayor Maria Theresa R. Timbol represented LGU Kapalong, and proudly received the award alongside members of the Technical Working Group. The LGU was also awarded a cash prize of Php 300,000 from the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), further supporting its initiatives aimed at community development and educational empowerment.</p><p>The ceremony was attended by key personalities from various National Government Agencies, including Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla Jr. of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), who commended the awardees for their commitment to public service and innovation in governance.</p><p>In her statement, Mayor Timbol expressed heartfelt gratitude and inspiration, "This award is not just a recognition of our hard work; it represents the dreams and aspirations of the people of Kapalong. Together, we have shown that with resilience, dedication, and unity, we can transform our communities and uplift the lives of our citizens. Our journey is just beginning, and we are committed to continuing this path of development and empowerment.”</p><p>As a recipient of the Galing Pook Award, LGU Kapalong is now poised to further enhance its initiatives, focusing on sustainable peace and development, education, and community resilience.</p><p>Looking ahead, Mayor Timbol outlined the way forward for LGU Kapalong, "We will build on this achievement by continuing to innovate and adapt our programs to the needs of our community. Our goal is to ensure that every individual has access to quality education, sustainable livelihoods, and opportunities for personal growth.
