The historic oathtaking of the newly elected officials of the Municipality of Kapalong, Davao del Norte, for the term 2025-2028, took place today at the Kapalong Town Square. The event marked a new chapter in local governance, with Mayor-elect Edgardo L. Timbol, Vice Mayor-elect Maria Theresa Timbol, and the 19th Sangguniang Bayan Council members officially taking their oaths of office.The ceremony was officiated by Honorable Judge Grace May M. Quimbo, who administered the oath to the officials amidst a crowd of supporters, national governemnt officials, and local government officials. The event was a significant gathering, reflecting the unity and hopes of the people of Kapalong for continued progress and development.In the recent midterm elections, the officials garnered the following votes, in landslide victory of 10-0:o Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol: 22,217 voteso Vice Mayor Maria Theresa Timbol: 21,674 voteso SB Member Kim Quesada: 21,966 voteso SB Member Nickell Mones: 21,639 voteso SB Member Ludo Vhan Lagang: 21,328 voteso SB Member Edgardo Timbol Jr.: 21,174 voteso SB Member Edilberto Febria: 20,086 voteso SB Member Baltazar Solis Jr., II: 19,917 voteso SB Member Romel Beldua: 19,688 voteso SB Member Jonathan Pineda: 19,348 votesDuring his inaugural speech, Mayor-elect Edgardo L. Timbol expressed his gratitude to the residents who entrusted him with leadership. "Ang pagpili sa mga lideres sa atong lungsod walay kantidad--walay presyo ang atong boto," he said, emphasizing the importance of the people's trust and the responsibility that comes with it.Vice Mayor-elect Maria Theresa Timbol delivered a heartfelt message, highlighting the significance of commitment in public service. She shared that despite the challenges faced during the campaign, divine intervention played a vital role in their victory. "Daghan man ta ug naagi-an sa niaging kamapanya, tanan nato nga efforts sa kamapnya wala na kung walay tay kauban nga Ginoo. Magpasalamat kita sa Ginoo tungod kini ang pinaka lisod nga kampanya nga akong naagian sa tibuok nako nga kinabuhi, and the sweetest victory has ultimately been achieved in the end".The event was attended by prominent figures including Atty. Ralph Dela Cruz, Provincial Administrator, Representative of Governor-elect Edwin I. Jubahib; DILG-MLGOO Marc Voltaire Daquigan; Semion Valle Jr., Representative of Comelec Kapalong Officer Jay Aquino; various barangay officials, members of the PNP, AFP, BFP, DTI, CSO, DEPED, LGU department heads, program chiefs, and LGU employees, all gathered to witness this milestone in Kapalong's local governance.The oathtaking ceremony not only symbolized the beginning of a new administration but also reinforced the collective aspiration of the municipality for a brighter and more developed Kapalong.
