Milestone Achieved: Kapalong Municipality Enhances Road Safety and Accessibility with New Infrastructure Projects

May 2, 2024—The Municipality of Kapalong inaugurated two infrastructure projects intending to improve road safety and accessibility for its residents. The municipality unveiled newly constructed paved shoulders and enhanced drainage cover and sidewalk— a significant milestone for local development.The first project, located at Apolinario Mabini St. Corner Antonio Luna St., beside Maryknoll High School and Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST), and the second project situated at Magsaysay Street beside Kapalong Water District and UCCP, Barangay Maniki, Kapalong, Davao del Norte, collectively cost a total of Php 3,860,000.00. These initiatives are set to enhance the overall infrastructure landscape of Kapalong and ensure a safer and more efficient transportation network for the community.The ceremonial ribbon cutting was graced by the presence of Mayor Maria Theresa R. Timbol, Vice Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol, SB Members, Ms. Jen Maliwanag of the Nanay Nicolasa Diaz Alvarez Foundation, Inc., and LGU employees. The projects were blessed by Pastor Samuel Angteg of the Church of God-Kapalong and Rev. Father Tony Llanes of San Isidro Labrador Parish, signifying the importance of these developments for the well-being of the municipality.During the event, Ms. Reena Jabillo, president of the Kapalong Street Food Vendors Association, expressed gratitude for the conducive area for their business provided by the LGU. She also emphasized that the support of the current administration helped the MSMEs particularly the street vendors with it comes to their livelihood and has significantly changed their living.Additionally, Ms. Jen Maliwanag commended the local government for prioritizing road safety and creating a secure environment for small businesses, and the public. She assured that her support along with Congressman Pantaleon Diaz Alvarez and Governor Edwin I. Jubahib of the Provincial Government, for all development initiatives in the municipality of Kapalong.Mayor Maria Theresa R. Timbol and Vice Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol reiterated their commitment to serving the people of Kapalong and emphasized that these infrastructure projects are a testament to their dedication to improving the quality of government services for all residents. Their message resonated with the community, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the local government and its constituents to foster progress and development in Kapalong. Additionally, the Mayor acknowledges the full support of the SB Members, Department Heads, and Section Chiefs of the LGU including its stakeholders for the realization of these significant projects.The inauguration of these projects marks a significant step forward for the Municipality of Kapalong, showcasing a vision for a more connected, safer, and prosperous municipality.
