Mayor Maria Theresa Royo Timbol Delivers Maiden Address at SB Session Hall

MANIKI, KAPALONG, DAVAO DEL NORTE-- In a maiden session address held today, January 6, 2025, at the SB Session Hall, LGU Compound, Mayor Maria Theresa Royo Timbol inspired attendees and the public by quoting Proverbs 16:3, urging all to "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." The event was graced by Vice Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and various department and section heads.In her comprehensive address, Mayor Timbol laid out her accomplishments for a progressive Kapalong, emphasizing the administration's commitment to meeting the difference in the lives of every Kapalongians. The mayor articulated her administration's primary goals, including creating a Safer Kapalong through enhanced public order and safety measures, such as heightened police visibility and resilience-building initiatives.Highlighting past achievements, she recognized the Executive-Legislative Agenda from 2016 to the present, including advancements in food security through innovative farm techniques, improved health care, and a strong focus on overall well-being. Mayor Timbol also emphasized the importance of higher educational accessibility, announcing the continuation of free college education at the Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST).On infrastructure, she showcased ongoing projects designed to foster sustainable development, including the establishment of the Php 20-million thermal decomposition system, urban greening projects, and tree planting initiatives. "We are committed to ensuring our community thrives while protecting our environment," she stated.Mayor Timbol also present the administrations' flagship program, the "Serbisyo sa Gobyerno Gidala sa Baryo,"which aims to bring government services closer to the people. She also spoke about the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), and the Kapalong Council of Women (KCW), which provides livelihood programs, and the Community Affairs Office (CAO), which facilitates housing settlements for disadvantaged families in partnership with the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD).The mayor said that the municipality is celebrating economic growth, noting that the municipality has become an attractive destination for investors and local entrepreneurs. "Our tourism initiatives aim to promote Kapalong as one of the most beautiful places in the Davao region--a true home away from home," she said, referencing the successful Pamulak sa Kadalanan event during the Araw ng Kapalong celebration.Looking forward, Mayor Timbol outlined ambitious plans for the coming year, including the establishment of a MDRRM satellite office in Barangay Gupitan, the procurement of a rescue vehicle, and the construction of a new multi-purpose building with a budget of 50 million pesos, located at Ilaboon in Barangay Maniki Poblacion. She also announced the construction of a modern Municipal Gymnasium, funded by Senator Ronald Bato Dela Rosa, and the construction of a municipal sanitary landfill, all will be contructed this year.In a nod to modern governance, she envisioned to implement a paperless session system to streamline legislative management.Concluding her address, Mayor Timbol emphasized the administration's core values, stating, "The Timbol administration is a God-centered administration: "Una ang katawhan, Una ang serbisyo, ulahi ang among kaugalingon. "Her words resonated with the attendees, reinforcing the commitment to prioritize the needs of the community above all else.
