KCAST and DOST Forge Partnership for Innovation and Community Development

Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology (KCAST) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in research, development, and extension services. This partnership aims to drive scientific innovation, promote sustainable agriculture, and empower communities through technology transfer and capacity-building initiatives. The MOU was signed by Dr. Anthony C. Sales, CESO III, Regional Director of DOST XI, and Dr. Rodrigo C. Licayan, Jr., President of KCAST, in the presence of Engr. Judy Donna Da. Nueva Ecija, Provincial Science and Technology Director of Davao del Norte, and Dr. Ronel Geraldizo Dagohoy, the Vice President for Research, Development and Extension of KCAST.Under this partnership, KCAST and DOST will collaborate on key areas such as technology transfer, inclusive growth, disaster risk reduction, and climate resilience. The partnership seeks to facilitate joint research projects, support entrepreneurship through DOST's SETUP program, and enhance educational programs that promote STEM and agricultural innovations. By working together, both institutions aim to create science-driven solutions that address socio-economic and environmental challenges in the region.This MOU marks a milestone in KCAST's commitment to academic excellence and local development, aligning with DOST's mission of fostering scientific and technological advancements for national progress. With this strengthened partnership, both institutions look forward to impactful initiatives that will benefit the people of Kapalong and beyond.The MOU signing was held at the DOST XI Regional Office, Bajada, Davao City, on February 4, 2025.
