Aiming to strengthen the threshold of adventure-filled destinations, Kapalong Tourism Section launched a 7-day Eco-Guiding Training at KWR Perma Culture, Florida, Kapalong on September 16-22, 2024.
With the active coordination and support of the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Maria Theresa R. Timbol, Department of Tourism Region XI, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, and Public Employment Service Office, this intensifying training is made possible.
The 25 participants from Sua-on Nature’s Park and Bubungan Tu’ Sangan actively participated in the array of sessions and simulations prepared to equip them holistically. The training includes sessions about eco-guide characters, basic mountaineering intricacies, cave guest guiding, risk management, and water safety and rescue training.
“Investing in you is investing in the future of our eco-tourism destination. Make the most out of opportunities like this,” said Edna B. Parcon, CHRA, the Executive Director of Davao Speleological and Conservation Society (DSpeCS) during her talk about cave guiding.
The event ended in an insightful and resourceful takeaway sharing. The 25 newly trained eco-guides are expected to pioneer the generation that fosters a welcoming and unforgettable experience in our adventure-filled destinations.
