Last October 19-23, 2024, Kapalong Rescue and Emergency Services successfully conducted a comprehensive Basic Water Safety training. This course is a crucial component of the 18-day Search and Rescue Training for new KARES members which was facilitated by esteemed instructors and experts from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (WASAR Team) with the guidance from Bureau of Fire Protection- Search and Rescue Force (BFP-SRF). The training course helps equipped the participants with essential skills, knowledge and mental alertness on responding water-related emergencies.
Given the geomorphological setting of the municipality of Kapalong where water-related incidents are probable, understanding water safety is imperative. It empowers the rescuers to mitigate risks, respond with confidence, and ultimately save lives. This training underscores the commitment of the Timbol- Timbol Administration to further develop capable and well-prepared emergency personnel who can handle any situation with professionalism.
