<p>Kapalong Celebrates National of the Children's Address</p><p>November 26, 2024</p><p>Mayor Tess Timbol delivered a compelling State of the Children's Address (SOCA) during the culmination of National Children's Month, held at Kapalong National High School. This year's celebration carried the theme: "Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines!"</p><p>The event gathered diverse stakeholders, including barangay officials, members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), child ambassadors from elementary and high schools, faculty members, and over 500 students. It served as a platform to highlight the local government's significant strides in ensuring the safety, well-being, and empowerment of children in the municipality.</p><p>Mayor Tess Timbol detailed the array of programs, projects, and activities funded and implemented by the Local Government Unit (LGU) to advance children's rights and welfare.</p><p>In addition, committee chairs presented their focused accomplishments under the four pillars of children's rights:</p><p>o Survival: Dr. Louelyn H. Exala highlighted efforts to improve healthcare access and services for children, ensuring their physical well-being and survival.</p><p>o Development: Mr. Dominic M. Dizon of the Department of Education (DepEd) showcased educational initiatives aimed at nurturing the intellectual and emotional growth of Kapalong's child and youth.</p><p>o Participation: The PESO Manager Mrs Delia Pernites and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation Jake Cabilogan emphasized platforms that empower children to voice their opinions and actively participate in community development.</p><p>o Protection: PNP's Officer PMaj Bryle Patalinghug and MSWDO Dr. Mary Grace L. Abuda RSW,MSSW,MPA representatives outlined measures to safeguard children from abuse, exploitation, and violence, reinforcing Kapalong as a child-friendly community.</p><p>As part of her unwavering support for children, particularly those in Kapalong National High School, Mayor Tess Timbol extended financial assistance amounting to ?100,000.00 to fund various children's activities. This initiative underscores the LGU's commitment to promoting the welfare and development of Kspslong'w children and youth.</p><p>We were honored to have the presence of Hon. Helen Mae I. Discaya Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President and Atty. Louie B. Limbaro, Acting Cluster Head/MLGOO, who joined in celebrating of our future leaders, fostering a community that prioritizes the safety and well-being of every child.</p>
