The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Kapalong, led by MDRRMC Chairperson Hon. Maria Theresa R. Timbol, MDRRMC Vice-Chairperson Hon. Edgardo L. Timbol, and MDRRMO Officer Debbie E. Alilaya. MBA,conducted simultaneous Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA) activities on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) to strengthen community preparedness.Team 1, headed by Ms. Jaiasent G. Cabactulan, Operations and Early Warning Chief, engaged the residents of Purok 11D, Butay, while Team 2, led by Geol. Kin Rey Bayabodan, Research and Planning Section Chief, conducted the same session for the residents of Purok 15, Arba. Both teams focused on vital topics including the creation of household emergency plans, the identification of safe evacuation routes, and the significance of early warnings in effective disaster response.&nbsp;These activities were designed to educate local communities about Republic Act No. 10121 (RA 10121), the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, and to empower residents to take proactive steps before, during, and after disasters.&nbsp;By delivering these crucial messages, the MDRRMO aims to build a culture of preparedness, encouraging active collaboration between residents and local government units to enhance disaster resilience in Kapalong.&nbsp;Through ongoing community engagement efforts, the MDRRMO is committed to ensuring the safety and preparedness of all Kapalongians, reinforcing the importance of readiness and resilience in the face of natural hazards.
