Sailing under the‎‎ theme "Building Bridges, Unlocking Business Potentials Towards Prosperity and Progress," the Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., in strong support and partnership with the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, in collaboration with the‎ Department of Trade and Industry—Davao del Norte, organized the 2nd Davao del Norte Investment Conference, dubbed DavNor ICON 2024, at Discovery Samal in the‎ Island Garden City of Samal—the host city—on Thursday, August 29, 2024.The event brought together key stakeholders, investors, and business leaders from various sectors to explore investment opportunities, forge partnerships, and discuss strategies for sustainable economic growth in the Davao Region and beyond.Mr. Rene Bongabong, President of the Davao del Norte Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Mr. Ken Lim, Vice President, and Engr. Maria Hazel C. Zafra, EnP, MMPA, MCPA—Acting Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, Mayor Al David Uy of the Island Garden City of Samal—along with other dignitaries, guests, and exhibitors from the participating municipalities, graced the event.Through a series of presentations, panel discussions, and networking sessions, DavNor ICON 2024 aimed to catalyze innovation, drive local enterprise, and reinforce the province's position as a premier investment destination in Mindanao.Meanwhile, the Local Government Unit of Kapalong (LGU Kapalong), led by Mayor Maria Theresa Royo-Timbol, showcased its premium products, including hand-crafted jewelry, traditional clothing, a variety of food delicacies, and more during the product exhibit held outside the conference venue. Additionally, the municipality also presented various investment priority areas, these include, Property Development, Water and Power Generation Development, Tourism Related Industries, and Agri-Industrial Investments. These priority investment areas are available for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme.Potential investors, customers, and delegates from other municipalities visited Kapalong's booth, where they were treated to free tastings of the renowned "Best Sikwate in the Province," which was highly praised by the guests.In addition to showcasing products, the event featured plenary sessions divided into three parts.In addition to the product exhibits, the event featured plenary sessions, divided into three parts. Topics discussed included Davao del Norte's strategic location for investments in sustainable tourism, property development, agri-industrial projects, energy solutions, access to finance through Landbank and the Small Business Corporation, and business matching opportunities.The 2nd DavNor ICON 2024 not only set sail towards sustainable economic growth but also built bridges and unlocked business potential that extends beyond mere prosperity and progress in the Davao Region—gearing towards collective success.
