January 13, 2025-- The Loval Government Unit of Kapalong has officially inaugurated the new facility for the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA), following a blessing ceremony attended by key officials including Mayor Maria Theresa Timbol, Vice Mayor Edgardo Timbol, and various department heads and senior citizen leaders and officers. The project, which amounts to 5 million pesos, underscores the administration's commitment to enhancing social services for the elderly community.

Dr. Mary Grace L. Abuda, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, delivered a heartfelt welcome address, emphasizing the current administration's dedication to social services. "We are proud to be champions for social services," she stated, highlighting the completion of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development building last year and the OSCA building set to be operational in the first quarter of 2025. Dr. Missy remarked on the Timbol administration's love for the people and how the MSWDO serves as an essential instrument in fulfilling this mission.

In her speech, Mayor Maria Theresa Timbol underscored the significance of the new facility, stating, "This is not just a building; it is a sanctuary designed specifically for our elderly citizens." She announced plans to conduct training programs aimed at supporting elderly individuals who experience dementia, alongside initiatives for training employees in physical therapy tailored for seniors.

Mayor Timbol extended her gratitude to the legislative body for approving the budget that made this project a reality and acknowledged the efforts of the department heads who worked diligently to bring the facility to fruition. She conveyed a message to the elders, encouraging them to maintain their partnership with the LGU and actively participate in shaping the community, particularly in fostering positive attitudes.

Vice Mayor Edgardo Timbol also took the opportunity to congratulate the elderly sector, reaffirming the administration's commitment to addressing their needs and ensuring their well-being.

The event not only marked a significant milestone for the elderly community in Kapalong but also showcased the collaboration between various sectors of the local government and community stakeholders, all focused on improving the quality of life for seniors in the municipality.
