Rationale

The Municipality of Kapalong has been performing well in terms of local investment as reflected in the impressive number of business each year and its financial capacity, nonetheless, there is an apparent need to sustain the viability through continued investment and business promotion. The Local Government Code provides that the Local Chief Executive shall ensure the efficient, effective and economical governance, the purpose of which is the general welfare of the municipality. As mandated in the DILG Memorandum Circular No: 2010-113, the Local Government Unit should play an active role in attracting more investments by providing an enhanced economic activity in the area, thus, Kapalong Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office has been formed through Executive Order No. 18 dated August 10,2016 with designated LEIPO Officer.

Mandate

1. Facilitate the preparation, coordination, and execution of Local Economic and Investment promotion policies, projects, and activities of the Local Government of Kapalong

2. Facilitate the establishment of an aggressive systematic, coordinated, and sustained promotion and marketing of Kapalong as an investment location

3. Provide basic information about the business potentials of Kapalong, including its services to prospective investors to attract more investors who will also attract more investors who will also attract more investments to flow in the community.

Vision

We envision Kapalong LEIPO as the chief local office responsible for promoting the Municipality of Kapalong as an investment destination to foster inclusive growth through job generation and enterprise development.

Mission

Assistance to prospective investors by identifying economic opportunity and partnering with the private sector on programs, projects and activities that promotes the municipality’s business friendliness providing support for business start-ups and the development of MSMEs.

Goal & Objectives

Enhance the municipality’s competitiveness for investment through improvements in the regulatory environment, implement marketing strategies which effectively highlight the municipality’s strength as a business location.

1. To coordinate and facilitate LGU partnership with other agencies, private sector, NGOs, and other stakeholders towards joint undertakings for local economic investment promotion activities;

2. To be able to provide data and information of investment, as well as service available, product development and packaging, marketing, business development and promotion;

3. To facilitate the conduct of necessary technical assistance and capacity building interventions to enable the LGU particularly the personnel to encourage investments and economic activities in the locality.

4. To provide assistance to prospective investors by identifying economic opportunities in the municipality;

5. To partner with the private sector on programs, projects and activities that promote the municipality’s business-friendliness;

6. To establish a local economic database that will cater especially to the needs of current and potential investors;
